My laziness have left this blog unupdated for the last 4 games but here is a brief summary of how the Hounds have being progressing ...
Celtic Bhoys 1 The Hounds 1
The Hounds travelled to one of the more solid and upstanding League of Ireland teams ... Celtic Bhoys ... knowing that the 'Hoops' were on a high after inflicting the first defeat of the season on Champions elect Le Sharks. Celtic line-up with a 3-3-3-1 formation hoping to break down the Hounds reguard via the wings, clearly unaware of the pride Wolfie has instilled into his defenders to kick the shins out of players breaking down the right n left! The Hounds looked sharp early on and clearly were testing the Bhoys Mettle and on 13 minutes got the breakthru An excellent through pass from Vinícius sent C. Keane flying towards goal. He tried his luck from 30 meters out and it clipped the far post and went into the net! 0-1. What a buy Vinicus has proven to be :) The Bhoys started to come to life after the goal and caught up with the pace of the game tho were unable to get on level terms before half-time while Vinicus continued to make his presence felt. On 47 minutes the Bhoys leveled After 47 minutes The Hoops paralyzed Smiley faced Hounds with some nifty combination play. T. Twomey passed the ball to T. Morrissey who rounded P. Mcquaker and struck the ball home into the far corner! 1-1. The game opened after that with both sides going for the winner but neither managed to find the killer ball and The Hounds came away with a creditable draw, while Cetlic will bemoaning the loss of 2 points!

Shocking bad defeat for the Hounds, it just was Shamrock day here ina a well deserved win for them!

The Hounds 3 Na Fianna 1
The Hounds took full advanatge of a depleted Na Fianna side who were missing some key players and, well, they GOT THE ARSE HANDED TO THEM :)

The Hounds 1 Newcastle Magpies 1
Fairly even contest from the two recently promoted sides, The Hounds failed to turn possession into goals clearly lacking the firepower to finish off teams!

Another depressing 1-2 home defeat for the Hounds this time came about against Champions elect/NT manager Le Sharks. The Hounds started off well with V. Villalón Fernandez creating an early chance but then the Sharks began to find their rythem though they clearly were fearful of the threat posed by the Hounds and were cautioned 3 times in 7 minutes for some cynical fouling. The Sharks however continued to take the game by the scruff of the neck and save the odd Hounds chance could have being 1 or 2 up by the break!
Into the second half and The Sharks got the breakthroughThe fans of Sharks unleashed a sigh of relief as E. Zeimoto failed to save a fine strike from J. Léonard. 0-1. It was T. Moketsie who upped the tempo and chipped the ball into the box to create the fine goal.The Hounds came back strong after the goal conceeded but more cynical fouling by The Sharks players disrupted the Hounds fightback, that was until on 63 minutes Vinicus struck again A sweet through ball from P. Mcquaker gave Vinícius a good opportunity from the distance after 63 minutes. He hammered it home with a clean volley with no chance whatsoever for C. "Not So Dodgy Hands" Mcgregor. 1-1!
The celebrations were very short lived though as The Sharks struck back straight away on 64 minutesA slightly mistimed D. "Key" Cannon corner was hammered into the net on 64 minutes, as D. O'Donaghue rose above C. Monaghan: 1-2! The game continued to be a pound for pound encounter until the final whistle with more horendous fouling from The Sharks saw another one of their players booked and another getting sent off late in the game but the Sharks held on and grabbed a deserved but costly win!

Athletico Teabag 0 The Hounds 1!!!!

The Hounds remarkable start in the LOI continues with a result that will send shockwaves throughout the entire league! Current Champions Teabag have had a forgettable start to the defensive of their title this season, rumor has it the manager in question has being using the Tesco brand of teabags and not the usual Lyons Gold blend the players are use to, whatever the reasons be, results like this latest one clearly indicate all is not well in the Teabag camp. The Hounds were far from in awe as they arrived at Atletico Teabag stadion, even knowing they were about to face arguable the best team and manager in Ireland! The first half saw Teabag take control of the game dismissing some early Hounds counterattacks but they seemed to lack the invention to penetrate the Hounds rearguard. 0-0 at half time saw both managers rushing to the dressing to put the kettle on and issue their instructions! The Teabaggers came out straight away in the second half but wasted a promising corner attempt leaving the Hounds to break on the right moments later when, bend-it-like-Beckam player, V. Villalón Fernandez, does what he does best as on 49 minutes J. O'Farrell struggled to hang on to V. Villalón Fernandez as he challenged him on one wing, and failed. V. Villalón Fernandez got past him and sent a fine cross right into the box where T. Fitzgerald was waiting. He gave all he had in him and sent the ball straight at goal - 0-1!UNBELIEVABLE STUFF FROM THE HOUNDS :) The game itself really opened up after that with some inevitable pressure coming from Teabag as the pressed for the equalizer but the Hounds stood our ground and with E. Zeimoto being his usual rock-like self in net another clean sheet was had, never mind another 3 points and an away win over the current champions!!! Thanks for the Cuppa luv :)

Hounds enjoying the Top 4!

Carnew Rovers 0 - The Hounds 1 (Won:)
Unbeaten on our travels around the League of Ireland so far, The Hounds last night made their way to face Carnew Rovers who were missing some defensive rocks at the back and were duly exposed by the expertise of that man again, the Angolian Assassin, the Venomous Volleyer, Vinicius! The game itself was a torrent affair from the start with Carnew picking up some early bookings for some rather lazy unprofessionalism! Hounds answer to Packie Booner - The Portuguese version - E Zemieto was tried and tested throughout the entire game and remained a formidably barrier which was unbreachable and earned himself another man of the match award for some spectacular saving! Both sides really looked like they could snatch it, with Carnew being bouyed by the home fans and creating more chances through the possession the Hounds had surrendered to them, Rovers looked the more likier! That was until the an inspired piece of Howling from Wolfie on 55 minutes resulted in what was to be the turning point of the game66. "That's what I wanna see, boys!" yelled the coach of Smiley faced Hounds after 66 minutes, when Vinícius unleashed a fierce shot from the spot after some fine combination play from Smiley faced Hounds. D. Blanchflower didn't quite do his job and left J. Fennelly helpless in the Carnew Rovers goal. 0-1 and a wonderful strike by Vinícius ! In the post match press conference Wolfie was just over joyed with his team in particular Vinicus, who has proved already that he is the box-to-box midfielder The Hounds have being searching for!

Next up for the Hounds are the rather easy tasks of a trip to Teabag (ill bring the sugar Daddy!) and a home fixture against Le Sharks! 6 points for the Hounds shirley?! Don't call me Shirley!! :)

The Hounds 1 One Nil to the Arseholes 2
Last fridays night encounter at New Vllaznia Stadium saw the Hounds entertain 1-02daArsenal! Both teams had a acceptable start to their respective campaigns and were hopeful to adding another 3 points to there total thus far! In what was a horrible night for football all around, shitty weather, horrible pitch, backs-to-the-wall from the Hounds, and (not so) elegant Hoofball from Arsenal, the game seemed to be fizzling out for a draw until a moment of sheer 'cough cough' brillance from the Arsenal won the game....((88)A slightly mistimed B. Barišić corner was hammered into the net on 88 minutes, as I. Hashemian rose above C. Dixon: 1-2! Well done ya jammy fucker said the Smiley Faced Hounds manager as he shook hands with thee Arsenal manager after the game ended.

The Degraders 1 The Hounds 2
The Hounds still smarting from another slender/bad home defeat went on their unbeaten travels to fellow promotees from div 2.3 The Degraders! The Hounds lined-up'd with a fimilar 4-5-1 while the Degraders went with an adventurous 4-2-2-2 attacking formation, clearly out for the Hounds blood! After a few brief opening exchanges, new Wolfhounds signing and Angolian capped NT player, Vinícius, repayed some of the 200 million spent on him after (15)Vinícius unleashed a furious half-volley after 15 minutes of play. J. Gahan tried to tip the ball away, but the volley was so hard it pushed away the gloves in it's way: 0-1! The defence-splitting pass was delivered by C. Dixon, who fended off E. Harte on the wing and sent in a low cross. Superb stuff from the Angolian :) More brief exchanges between to the two sides followed until on 32 minutes that man again, Vinicus, brought more magic to the LOI, (It took a lot of effort from Vinícius to strike the half-volley when P. Mcquaker had found him with a long defence-splitting pass. Nevertheless J. Gahan misjudged the finish and the ball went into the net! Goal for Smiley faced Hounds and 0-2. The chance could have been prevented by D. Šekularac, but his marking was not good enough. The game itself was over as a contest after that as the Hounds mean defence shut up shot and played out the game in comfort to climb back up to seventh :)

Mornin welcome to first offical Irish Wolfhounds blogger page! Keeping yall up to date with the greatest ever club in Trophy Manager - Irish Wolfhounds :) Tis seven games into the new season and the howling success story of the Hounds continues to grow and build momentum! Currently sitting pretty in fifth place in our first ever season in the top flight of Irish TM foobtall, the League of Ireland, after some heroic results, which included the demolition of some highly regarded LOI teams, Pirate Ningas Dinos and Askeaton, both of whom were humbled 2-0 at the Hounds home fortress of New Vllaznia Stadium, the Hounds have made a statement the they pose a clear and present danger to all in the LOI :)
Lisburn 0 The Hounds 1
In last nights (wednesdays) trip up north, The Hounds travelled to Lisburn City knowing that a back lash could well be on the cards as bottom of the table Lisburn, who have strangely struggled so far this season, looked to put some more points on the board! Lisburn clearly went for the juggler opting for a 4-2-4 formation, though the Hounds had the best part of the opening exchanges Lisburn gradually eased their way into the game and enjoyed the lions share of the possession throughout and also enjoyed the shots on goal ratio, however, many of them went sailing high and wide into the cold Antrim night! The game itself was decided on a moment of brillance as ..."A long shortpassing sequence by Smiley faced Hounds ended as Vinícius found C. Keane with a chip into the penalty area. C. Keane tried his luck with a right-footed strike towards the far post, and M. Khan could do nothing but watch as the ball sailed into the net - 0-1!"
and thats how the game ended, another Wolfhounds win :)
